Thank you (with pictures!)
I have the best stalkers ever.
Thank you for letting me bitch. I think I will let the holiday posts percolate for a bit. There are still a couple of things I want to tell you all about (and yes, I will have photos!) but right now I am going to let that go.
And now,
The Back of the Boat-August 3-5
I promised not to bitch about the boat, didn't I?
Okay, no bitching. Or moaning, for that matter. However, this weekend was a bit a of challenge. We had planned on spending the long weekend in one isolated spot, but the PTB decided to mess with us. Just cause they can. I will not bore you with our trials and tribulations because, at the end of the day, we still got to spend 3 nights on Georgian Bay and you didn't.
Weather: Gorgeous
Wildlife spotted: 3 loons, 2 chipmunks, 13 mergansers, 1 tiny green frog, various and sundry gulls
Wildlife not spotted by us, but by our friends who actually could get their anchor to set in a remote spot: 1 black bear
Fish and chips consumed at Henry's: 2 platefulls
Books read by me: The Wonder Spot, Seasons of Mist, The Mermaid Chair
Feet of chain purchased for our anchor: 15

Anchored Outside Ojibway Bay

Overnighting on the dock at Henry's Fish Restaurant

On the dock at Wanaketa Campground on Beausoleil Island

I am 46 photos away from having finished my holiday Blogging. It's not bad at all when I get into a rhythm - I find the code for inserting photos, then just work out how many photos for that 'theme' of the photo, copy and paste the code, insert the photo links and comments, a brief post intro and title, and backdate. Takes maybe 5-10 minutes, average photos per post maybe 4 or 5? So if I sat down for an hour-90 mins, I could finish it.
If...
Heh, I joked about losing my motivation, to some friends online, and someone else said the same - she reckoned the motivations were having a hot air balloon ride around Europe.
Your boat photos are lovely, and one day, I shall come over, I promise! Maybe not too far away, if the MA funding thing falls through!
Okay, this is a serious technical question -- How hard is it to transport your boat??
Because Isle Royale (http://www.nps.gov/isro/) in Lake Superior is supposedly gorgeous and untouched biosphere with wolves and bears and moose (oh my) and Mike and I are talking about spending a few days up there either this fall before it gets too cold or next summer. This summer is pretty much out with all of the nose jobs going on around here.
Oh and didn't you just love the Mermaid Chair? Forbidden priest sex always works for me.
Love you.
Oh and Helen, if you go see Costello, you'd better by goodness come see me too. I'm in the same general area of the globe even if it's not the same country!
Isle Royal sounds fabulous, but I suspect that it would take us a bit too long to actually get there. You know, like 2 weeks? On the other hand, for you and Mike to travel to Penatanguishene would take approximately 7 hours.
We want a boat, too!
Dragging Jim's love seat into the bathtub just doesn't have the grandeur of your photos.
*much agreemoo of Bears*
When we're all in Canadia, can we come visit you on your boat?
OK Bye
Stompy
I'm so jealous I can hardly type.
